Option 1: Clear local extension storage
This release keeps provider keys, settings, local chat state, and an optional profile name in browser extension storage.
- Use your browser extension storage controls to clear ScreenChat local data.
- Uninstalling ScreenChat also removes its local extension storage from that browser profile.
Option 2: Ask a deletion question by email
ScreenChat does not store cloud account data or cloud conversation history in this release. For questions, email hi@ahmadyaseen.com.
Option 3: Rotate a saved AI provider key
ScreenChat stores provider API keys only in local extension storage on the browser where you entered them. Those keys are not stored on ScreenChat servers.
- Open ScreenChat and go to the Profile view.
- Replace a saved provider key if you want to rotate it.
- To remove locally stored provider keys entirely, use Option 1.
What gets deleted
- Locally saved provider API keys.
- Local settings, local chat state, and any optional local profile name stored by the extension.
What does not get deleted
- Data already sent to the AI provider you chose for a request is handled by that provider.
- Data stored outside the browser by the provider key owner is not controlled by ScreenChat.
Screenshots
If you use Attach Screen, the screenshot is sent with that request to help generate a reply. ScreenChat does not save it to cloud history.
